welcome back to school

Attached is the 2024-20245 Start of School Year Presentation for each school building.

At the Board of Education meeting, Dr. Oszula shared that the current Lakeview schedule works well and is similar to last year's schedule. The only change to the Lakeview Schedule is that Advisory is now called ACE, which stands for Advisory Culture and Environment. Principal Little and Principal Johnson shared out changes for Prairieview and Ide schedule.  Changes in the master schedule were based on optimizing instructional time and enhancing the overall student experience. For Ide and Prairieview, previous master schedules included challenges such as inconsistent common planning times, fragmented core subject blocks, inadequate lunchroom supervision, PE classes with 50+ students, lack of dedicated time for science and social studies, and interruptible and fragmented CORE blocks. The new 2024-25 Master Schedule for Prairieview and Ide provides:

  • CORE blocks of interrupted time for ELA and Mathematics;

  • Common plan time to implement instructional strategies and curriculum with fidelity, analyze student data, and conduct problem solving for students who need interventions;

  • An innovative way to incorporate music and art due to space constraints at Ide due to the addition of classroom teachers and sections to reduce class size;

  • Improved lunchroom supervision and efficiency, due to reduced student lunch time from 30 minutes to 20 minutes, serving 2-3 classes simultaneously;

  • Trading Physical Education time for Recess time, which resulted in the same, if not more physical activity during the day; and

  • Removal of PE classes of 50+ students, allowing students to have a better experience in PE.

Through collaborative efforts, Prairieview and Elizabeth Ide Elementary have developed master schedules that prioritize uninterrupted learning, efficient transitions, and optimized resource allocation.
